Bazan Band USA Tour Dates!

David, Andy and Alex will be on tour in November and December. They’ll  be coming to a lot of towns they’ve not been to in a while… some  places they’ve never been to at all. Scroll down to see the dates.

There’s some cool stuff happening on this tour…

WIN DAVID’S GUITAR:
Everyone who comes to a show can enter to win’s David’s Epiphone SG  guitar. He’ll be playing the guitar on the entire tour and then we’ll  draw a winner at the last show. Entry forms will be available at the  merchandise table at the shows. Fill it out and give it to  Caleb at the show (he’ll be the guy behind the merchandise table).

BAZAN LIFETIME PASS:
Once you’re entered into the guitar give-a-way you’ll also be entered to  win a “Bazan Lifetime Pass!” We’ll pick a winner at the end of each show. You’ll  get a special lifetime pass good for free entry into any Bazan show  forever. That’s right, free admission to any Bazan show… FOREVER. This  includes band shows, solo shows and living room shows. If you want to go  to 100 Bazan shows for free… you can! If you want to go to a Bazan  show 10 years from now for free… you can!

Very few restrictions apply. It has to be a Bazan headlining show and it  can’t be a festival show where we don’t control the guest list. Other  than that… you are good to go… anyplace, anytime.

Faith no more, but plenty of heart

David Bazan’res well-publicized quarrel with Christianity reached a breaking point with 2009’res Curse Your Branches, the sound of one man’res Dark Night of the Soul translated to searing indie folk. With his former band Pedro the Lion, Bazan frequently took on the role of musical prophet, turning out five albums of thoughtful, theologically-oriented songs. But with Curse Your Branches he shed his prophetic mantle, stuck out his chin, and took on his critics, his obsessive fans, and nothing less than the Almighty in emotionally charged, confrontational terms. The resulting album was as messy as any breakup album ever recorded, and as masterfully conflicted and musically intense. (READ MORE)

Despite having rarely (if ever) missed his mark in nearly 15 years of crafting disarmingly thoughtful musical and lyrical prose, he seems to be perpetually relegated to the outside of critical favor, an underdog whose loyal following would lay in the road for him if he asked that of them. In a 15-passenger Chevy van equipped with a makeshift bed and pantry, David Bazan’s GPS system has him arriving right on time at his show in Omaha. At this point, he’s one week into a tour, and he has been driving all day from Colorado Springs.

“[Touring] is how I’m able to make ends meet,” Bazan says, “because band touring costs so much money to bring a bunch of guys out.”

Bazan released his solo debut in 2009. Many music critics called Curse Your Branches Bazan’s breakup letter to God. (SEE MORE)
