Bazan + Deerhoof 7″ Single: We Need Your Help!

UPDATE: November 17

We had over 300 people send ideas for us to check out. We can’t thank you enough for being part of this. It was really hard to pick just one because we had so many good submissions to choose from. But we’ve picked a winner and have been in touch with the artist to work out the details. We’ll make an official announcement and show you the final cover on Monday, November 21.

Thanks again for your help. We look forward to doing more projects like this in the future.

Bob (David’s manager)

====================================

Attention photographers, artists, designers, illustrators!

David Bazan recently collaborated with Deerhoof for their ongoing split 7″ series.

Side A is David singing over an instrumental version of Deerhoof’s song “No One Asked To Dance.” The B side is a new version of the Headphones song “Gas and Matches” recorded live-in-the studio while Bazan and his band were on tour last summer.

We need your help creating artwork for the record sleeve. We are looking for original photos, art, designs, or illustrations.

Submissions must be no larger than 600 pixels x 600 pixels @ 72dpi. If we pick yours we’ll get in touch to arrange delivery of a hi-resolution version. All submissions must be original work, fully owned and controlled by you.

We don’t need totally finished designs unless your are into doing it. Just the cover image, really. We’ll do all the technical stuff and make it ready for printing on our end.

We’d like to trade some of our stuff in exchange for you letting us use your creative work. You’ll get a copy of the record autographed by David Bazan and Deerhoof, Bazan t-shirt, Deerhoof t-shirt, a lifetime pass good for any and all Bazan headline shows and a one-time payment of $150.

We’ll also make sure you have credit for your work on the back of the sleeve and we’ll post a link to your website on our website.

If this seems like something you want to do… please submit your ideas to  bazanhoof@pedrothelion.com  by Monday, November 14. We’ll sort through all of the submissions and choose a winner on Friday, November 18.
